Healing, Enrichment, and Community for All

Now in the planning stages of development, the Ralph B Lilly, MD Equestrian Center will serve as a place of education, rehabilitation, and community. The Center will board its own horses with professional staff and volunteers dedicated to their care. Once completed, the grounds will facilitate therapeutic equine care, programming, and event space to give hope to families, inspire communities, and help patients heal.

The Legacy of Ralph B Lilly, MD

Ralph B Lilly, MD was a dear friend and deeply respected ally of the Nexus Hope Foundation, instrumental in saving lives and bringing new research in Neurology, Neurobehavioral Health, and Brain Injury Rehabilitation to light. In 1980 Dr. Lilly suffered a traumatic brain injury that changed the course of his life and his medical career. He became a dedicated advocate for the fair treatment and opportunities available to patients who had experienced a traumatic or acquired brain injury. Dr. Lilly was a Western culture enthusiast and held a love of horses, actively involved in the Houston equestrian community during his tenure in Texas.

Now, the Nexus Hope Foundation is proud to preserve his legacy with the dedication of the Ralph B Lilly, MD Equestrian Center.

Established in 2008, the Nexus Hope Foundation’s mission is to make a positive impact in the brain injury community through awareness, research, and enrichment. Through community events, educational collaborations, and safety advocacy, the Nexus Hope Foundation increases community understanding to prevent brain injury while conducting groundbreaking research that will lead to better outcomes for brain injury patients and their families.
